River of Life

It was a great joy to have the senior leadership team (above) of River of Life, Harare join us last week. This is a fantastic church in Zimbabwe’s capital, with whom we have a growing partnership. River of Life has recently transitioned to a church with five meetings across two sites, and now is gathering well over 1,200 people each week. On this visit we spent time talking through both the opportunities and challenges that a multi-site church can bring. This is an encouraging and fruitful relationship, and Deb and I are very much looking forward to visiting Harare again in May.

Diversity Sunday is an important occasion in the life of King’s, and it was fantastic to see so many people in national dress last Sunday. Once again, hearing people’s testimonies of the power of the cross to unite people of different ages and cultures was extremely moving.

My weekend finished with the last evening of my Better Together group. We held an outreach event which concluded with an invite to our Easter service Welcome∙Broken∙Risen. Have you seen the video yet? Easter is always a highlight in our church calendar, and I encourage you to come along and invite a friend. Full details of all services can be found here. You may also be interested to know that starting on Monday 30th, a special series of Easter devotionals will be available through the King’s website.

This week is Palm Sunday, so why not set the alarms early and join with us as we welcome King Jesus! I look forward to seeing you then.
