Transformed Lives
What a remarkable Easter weekend we had last week. It was wonderful to see the church full of people worshipping the risen Lord Jesus. I realised that the last time we had such an occasion was four years ago, at Easter 2019. The pandemic had a huge impact on normal church life, but I believe we are finally recovering.
Since January, numbers on Sundays and at midweek events have gradually been returning to pre-pandemic levels. In fact, we now find ourselves grappling with some of the same problems King’s faced in the past, such as how are we going to fit everyone in? How are we going to recruit enough volunteers to serve all the people attending? Though this is a challenge, we are grateful - it is a sign of church health which is very encouraging to see.
This coming Sunday will be another moment to celebrate the power of the resurrection, with 19 people being baptised across the church. I love baptisms and always find it moving to hear personal testimonies of lives transformed by Christ. It was fantastic to see so many visitors last Sunday, and baptisms present another excellent opportunity to invite your friends and family along. I look forward to seeing you there.
