God's Plan for Your Wellbeing
As I write, I cannot remember if we are in our second or third lockdown. Are we in tier 3 or tier 4? To be honest, as the weeks and months pass, it all seems to blur. We have become used to having church online and meetings on Zoom, to chatting to friends and family on FaceTime and leaving the house as seldom as possible. Many of you are juggling working from home with teaching your kids; others are unable to choose to stay at home, but are serving us all in our schools, hospitals, supermarkets and other essential services. There are encouraging signs that the daily number of new Covid cases is starting to fall, and they seem to be making good progress with the vaccination programme, but the reality is that we still don’t know when this current lockdown will be eased, or when life will start to return to anything like normality.
On Sunday we launch our new teaching series, God’s Plan for your Wellbeing. Each week, we will look to God’s Word to develop a faith-filled mindset towards issues around physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, financial and vocational wellbeing. God’s Plan for your Wellbeing is based on the book of the same name, written by Dave Smith, who leads KingsGate Church in Peterborough. It is an excellent resource for addressing the particular challenges of our times, and we encourage you to read the book alongside the series. Details of how to buy a discounted copy can be found here.
I am excited about this series, and I encourage you to make the most of it by watching the online Sunday service, joining a group and reading the book. We will also be holding a number of seminars, which will look at some of the key issues raised in more depth. All details about the series can be found here.
God’s Plan for your Wellbeing is a practical, personal and pastoral series, which we believe will assist us as we continue to adjust to life in some form of lockdown and restriction. God has always had a plan for the flourishing of His people. He cares about our wellbeing. As we journey together through this seven-week series, I pray that we will each come to a deeper awareness of God working in every area of our lives. Ultimately, it’s in Him that we find peace and joy.
