Devoted and Church Picnic
This week Deb and I have been in Darlington, where we have enjoyed being at Devoted, Christ Central’s leadership conference. Jeremy Simpkins, who leads the Christ Central family of churches, and his wife Anne, are long-time friends and partners in the Gospel - in fact we first met back in 1994 when I was leading Solid Rock, the 15 to 18 youth work at Stoneleigh! While we were at Devoted this week Deb and I hosted a session on marriage and ministry, and I also spoke at the last main session. We had an excellent time with this group of leaders, and it was very encouraging to hear of Gospel advance in many parts of the world.
This coming Sunday at King’s is one of my favourite Sundays of the year – the annual King’s Church Picnic. This is the only time we are able to bring the whole church together from across all of our four sites and seven meetings. I do encourage you to come; it is always a great opportunity to connect with friends, meet new people, and have some fun. There will be food available to buy, games, a bouncy castle, face painting and sporting competitions. The weather is looking good, so pack your suncream and sunhat and come along. I look forward to seeing you there.
