Home and Away
Deb and I flew in from the USA this week, following a fruitful time away visiting three churches in the Advance movement. It was a very encouraging trip, and I had the privilege of preaching at each location as well as spending time with their leadership teams. It was great to get to know these churches more and see how the Gospel is bearing fruit in each of their different communities.
As you will be aware, my time is divided between leading King’s and serving the Newfrontiers apostolic fellowship, which means I am constantly switching from one role to another. So, having flown in from the States early Tuesday, I made a quick turnaround to get into the King’s office for a full day of meetings. Wearing two different hats can be difficult at times, and I am grateful we have such an excellent and capable team here at King’s, which allows me to fulfill my Newfrontiers role confident that everything is in safe hands back home.
It was great to hear from them that the Spirit Filled series has been going well, and if, like me, you have missed some Sundays, you can catch up here. I am also very happy to report that we have met our Vision 2030 giving target! You will remember that on Vision Sunday we set ourselves the challenge of raising an additional £100k in the month of October, on top of our normal monthly giving target. The church has responded brilliantly, and once again I have been blown away by the continued generosity of everyone at King’s – thankyou. If you have yet to give and would like to do so, please go to the giving page on our website.
This recent trip to the USA was our last overseas trip for a while, and we are glad to be home at King’s for the run up to Christmas which is coming up fast now. I am then very much looking forward to the new year and our 21 Days of Prayer in January. Once again, we will be starting the new year by meeting together for worship and prayer for an hour each day for 21 consecutive days. It begins the second week of January, and I am planning to be there for all but one of the evenings. I hope you will be able to join me, and I encourage you to put the dates in your diary now.
