Travelling Again

Last Friday we held a thanksgiving service for our dad, who was a remarkable man. The day went well and we are extremely grateful for the support and love so many people have shown us over the last few weeks. The many cards, messages and hugs have been a great comfort. King’s, you have been so kind to the Tibbert family at our time of loss, thank you.

Today I am writing to you from Harare, Zimbabwe. We were last here three years ago, just as the world was beginning to wake up to the gathering storm of the global pandemic, and it’s great to be back at last. We are at the start of a nearly four week trip to southern African which provides the opportunity to connect with friends and ministry partners from across three different spheres within the Newfrontiers apostolic fellowship. We’ll be here in Zimbabwe with Scott and Claire Marques for the next five days and this weekend I will be speaking at a training camp for leaders within the Disciple Nations apostolic sphere before returning to Harare on Sunday to be at River of Life Church.

From Zimbabwe we go down to South Africa to join Steve and Heather Oliver in Clarens where we’ll be spending time with the Regions Beyond apostolic global team. We are delighted to be joining David and Scilla Devenish who are on a longer visit with them, since Regions Beyond are holding a series of gatherings over the next couple of weeks.

We’ll then travel on to Cape Town to catch up with friends at Jubilee Church before spending a few days with the Common Ground family of churches. We are looking forward to meeting up with Rigby and Sue Wallace and Ryan and Kate TerMorshuizen from Advance. I will be speaking a couple of times to different groups while we are with them.

It hardly seems possible, but in the middle of this three and a half week trip I will be turning 60. Deb and I will therefore take the opportunity to have a few days’ break while we are here to mark what feels like a fairly significant age. We look forward to being back at King's next month.
