Christmas is Here - Almost
I hope you enjoyed our Light of the World carol services last weekend. Once again, I was impressed by the quality and professionalism of our musicians and performers and I was thrilled to see so many visitors. Thank you again to everyone who took part and helped to make it such a success.
With seven carol services and another five family Christmas services already behind us, it can feel as if Christmas has come early! But we still have the joy to come of celebrating as a church family on Christmas Day. As in previous years, there will be one service at 10.30am at each of our three sites, lasting for no more than an hour. These services are always lively and fun and are a great way to begin Christmas Day.
Then just a week after Christmas, we have another of my favourite King’s events, when we gather across all our sites for WATCHNIGHT. What better way to mark the start of 2017 than to see in the New Year with worship and prayer! WATCHNIGHT will be taking place on all three sites at the following times:
CATFORD: 9.30pm – 12.30am
DOWNHAM and LEE: 10.30pm – 12.30am
We will also be hosting NYE, our New Year’s event for the 17-30s age group, which will be taking place on the Lee site. Doors open at 9pm and there will be worship, a short talk, entertainment, and a party going on until 2am – long after I plan to be in bed! This is a ticketed event – details on the website.
Don’t forget that because we will be celebrating into the early hours of New Year’s Day, there will be no Sunday services on Sunday 1st January 2017 – enjoy the lie-in!
So whether you are staying at home or travelling to see friends or family this year, I wish you a very happy Christmas.
