One of the things we love to do at King's is celebrate Christmas in a big way, and we'd like everyone to be a part of this. This year our theme is ARMS WIDE OPEN and it has three main parts to it:
A Message; A Moment; Mercy.
Firstly – this is about a message – that Christmas is the story of people with ARMS WIDE OPEN in need of God. It’s a story of God with ARMS WIDE OPEN to people by giving His Son. And it’s a story of an invite – God’s invite to us to know Him and be known by Him.
We are going to teach this message throughout December starting on Sunday 4 December – and we would love you to be part of this series.
This is also about a moment – the Carol Service weekend on 16-18 December.

We are planning 4 massive King’s Carol Services, hosted at the Catford site. The services involve carols, readings, some performance pieces and a short talk.
There will also be site Carol Services on the morning of Sunday 18 December:
We would love you to join us on Christmas Day for one of our morning services which take place as follows:
We end the year on Saturday 31 December with Watchnight evenings at all three sites. Feel free to join us as we see in 2012.
There will be no Sunday meetings on Sunday 1 January 2012 but please join us as we resume our normal service times across our three sites on Sunday 8 January for our Vision Sunday. This will be a moment not to miss.
ARMS WIDE OPEN is also about mercy – it speaks of generosity, showing love and care to the people in our community, living with ARMS WIDE OPEN to those around us.
You can also express mercy and help a homeless person this Christmas by buying a real Christmas tree through Caring Christmas Trees...
All the profits from trees we sell will go to the Jericho Road Project which has been helping rough sleepers and housing vulnerable people in South East London for 10 years.
You can order online or by phone and arrange to collect your tree or have it delivered. For more details visit www.caringchristmastrees.com/selondon

This year, we are launching the ARMS OPEN WIDE Christmas hamper project. We are looking to provide at least 60 food hampers which will go to the neediest families in our local community.
We would love everyone to be involved in this. For some of us, it will simply be buying one item of food to go in a hamper, for others it will be in buying the food for an entire hamper.

The hampers are a great way for all of us to be involved, for all of us to have our ARMS OPEN WIDE.
