On Sunday 1 July we are planning to record a second King's worship album. On that day we'd like you to attend your normal meeting in the morning, either at Catord, Lee or Downham and then to come to Catford for the 5.30pm meeting so that we have a good crowd for the recording that evening.

From Sunday 27 May we will have a CD with the acoustic versions of many of the songs that will be included on the album available so that you can get familiar with the songs in advance. These will cost just £1 and will be available from the Information/Welcome Desks.

Why?

I believe God is extremely creative – more creative than we can possibly imagine. I believe the church should be a people who are therefore really creative as well. I don’t mean "art for art's sake", but creative because when we make something new, we point again to the fact that there really is one who throws the stars in to space and knows them all by name.

Music and songwriting are only a part of the creative gifts God generously gives, but they are important. God seems to have ordained that the combination of truth and melody can be truly explosive in our hearts.

At King's we are still learning how to do this, but God has been very gracious and seems to have owned our first few steps along the songwriting adventure. This next album will be a little marker on where we are on this journey – we hope you enjoy it and the songs move you to want to surrender everything you have to the one who is worth more than everything.
