Over the next three months our preaching series is looking at the gallery of champions found in Hebrews 11. These characters are listed by the author of Hebrews to inspire faith. The original readers were a group of Jewish Christians who had become dispirited and demoralised. They had thought that being Christians would mean life would be easier than it had turned out to be. They had started really well but now they were running out of steam. The writer of Hebrews wants to reignite their faith by showing that though faith is costly and demanding it is the path to pleasing God and does have abundant rewards.
We've put together some suggested readings about each of the people we will be learning about to help you prepare for each week’s message. You can download these here.
You can also listen to a short preview to the series (10 minutes) that Mick Taylor did at the Lee site.
